Isaac Newton is famous for his statement that if he had seen farther than others it was because he stood on the shoulders of giants. The theme of this book is the same: what we might see when our perspective is elevated.

The giants on whose shoulders Loehle asks us to stand to obtain a new perspective are Newton's, representing science and technology, and Bahá'u'lláh's, founder of the Bahá'í Faith, representing the world of religion and divine guidance.

If we can combine science and religion in a genuine partnership, we will be able to solve problems that have bedevilled humanity for thousands of years. This series of essays explores how this partnership may be put into practice in the realm of real problems and issues such as racism, the environment and human development. Further, Loehle shows how scientific concepts throw light on the processes of religion.
