Curtis Kelsey was a simple man who never went to college and never gained worldly fame. But in 1921, at the age of 27, he was asked by 'Abdu'l-Bahá to come and work in Haifa, to install the first electric lighting in the Shrine of the Báb.

For two months he lived and worked as a member of 'Abdu'l-Bahá's household, an experience that transformed the restless, Utah-born young man into a true servant - of the Master and of the Bahá’í cause - for life.
