Promise of World Peace, The

This statement is written by the Baha'i Universal House of Justice, and is addressed to the peoples of the world; a statement on peace addressing civilization's coming of age, the spiritual roots of peace, the path to world order, the construction of a peaceful global civilization, and the basis of human happiness. Other subjects covered include the condition of today's world; the need to transcend selfishness and aggression; the goal of human evolution; the unique endowments of the human spirit; the vital role of religion; the Founders of religion as agents of one civilizing process; barriers to peace such as racism, extremes of poverty and wealth, unbridled nationalism, religious strife, gender inequality, ignorance & lack of education, and multiplicity of languages; the moral attitudes conducive to peace; the ones of humanity; and the Baha'i community as a model of unity and diversity.
